- Are you FERPA / HIPAA / IRB compliant?
- Not under the standard plan. The discounted academic plan is intended for individual research and teaching that doesn't carry compliance requirements. If your work involves FERPA-protected student records, HIPAA-protected health data, or IRB-restricted datasets, contact us for a custom plan with the right controls and a separate written agreement.
- How long is data retained?
- Pro uploads keep their files for up to 30 days from creation. After that, files are permanently deleted from our storage. You can extend or delete uploads earlier from the dashboard.
- Where is my data stored?
- On Cloudflare R2 with multi-region origin servers (US East, EU Central, Singapore). We don't sell your data, mine it for ads, or train models on it.
- What counts as 'individual academic use'?
- One person uploading their own work — research data they generated, lecture recordings they made, syllabi or course materials they authored, conference submissions. If you're sharing infrastructure across a lab, department, or class with multiple uploaders, that's a team plan.
- Can I get the discount as a student?
- Yes. Any verified .edu email qualifies, including students, faculty, postdocs, and staff.
- What happens at renewal?
- The 20% academic discount applies on every renewal as long as the account stays active and your .edu email remains valid. If your email becomes invalid (graduation, job change), we'll reach out 30 days before reclassifying.
